The New Normal

Simple things in our daily life that we took for granted suddenly disappeared overnight as the new corona virus emerged. The whole world we are now live in will never be the same. Simple human touch isn't so simple anymore. People from all walks of life came together with big and small ideas to combat this new virus. For Helical, it's design thinking.

“The biggest challenge we see for our brand and retail partners is making in-store shopping safer without sacrificing the rewarding, interactive experiences that attract customers in the first place.” said Paul Chapuis, CEO of OnQ.

Small K-alpha X-ray Source

Questions about oxidants on Mars can be answered by direct measurements of the chemical states of the materials on Mars surfaces. The XPS technique is unique in that the data can be interpreted directly without prior knowledge of the materials. The toxicity of the materials on the moon can be likely be determined by direct studies of the materials on the moon. The chemical changes in an Earth background can thus be avoided.

The x-ray source is designed to be part of a small XPS system. The instrument has a low mass, about 7Kg, and uses very low power, <10W. XPS provides the capability to determine the chemical state of materials in addition to elemental composition without any previous knowledge of the material.

Pack Light to Go Far

Every gram counts when it comes to cycling. Every cyclist knows to not carry more than they should; especially non-essential items. A traditional bicycle tool set weights about 163g. Helical's tool set weights in at around 48g, which translates to a 70% weight reduction.

Helical's tool set contains 8 essential (and commonly used) bits; Those most likely take care of 90% of the mechanical issues counter during a typical weekend ride.

Custom Workbench - Achieve More with Less

Long extended hours on the shop floor can take a toll on an operator's body. The right workbench and setup can help eliminate most, if not all, of the operator's stress and strain. Helical's workstation design is light, which allows company can quickly re-config manufacturing floor within minutes instead of hours. With flexible design and mounting features, critical point of use such as keyboard, mouse and monitors can be positioned to personally fit the operator. Every process on the manufacturing floor is unique and so is the workstation.

Workplace injuries can be eliminated by simply start with small changes.
